Nineteen to 24-year-old Jobseeker’s Allowance recipients eligible for an increase in social welfare payment with Tús employment
The Dublin South City Partnership Tús Programme is now open to 19 to 24-year-old Jobseeker Allowance (JA) recipients for its community work placement scheme.
19 to 24-year-olds on Tús programmes receive a top-up on their social welfare payment to €271.50, a significant increase from the current living-at-home unemployment payment of €141.70. The payment increased from €259.50 in January 2025.
JA recipients aged 19-24 are eligible for Tús placement after 12 months of unemployment. Tús participants work for 19.5 hours per week with local non-profit organisations. They retain secondary benefits and may work part-time elsewhere. They are removed from the live register.
The programme is designed for those receiving JA who have been unemployed for at least a year and those on Disability Allowance. It provides a valuable opportunity to re-enter the workforce on a part-time basis.

Tús Supervisor Geraldine McLoughlin said: “The Tús programme allows for those just starting their working career an immediate increase of income, independence and the opportunity to gain new skills and experience.”
Tús jobs are provided by local community and voluntary organisations and are located in Dublin 4, 6, 6W, 8, and 12. In partnership with approximately 80 local community groups, Tús matches candidates with meaningful community jobs.
Tús offers a wide range of jobs in admin, reception, marketing and social media, retail, maintenance, groundskeeping, kitchen work, childcare, elderly support and sports coaching.
