Retiring NewsFour Editor Eoin Meegan

Howiyas!

As the new Editor of NewsFour, I am excited to help continue the tradition of delivering local stories that matter. Local journalism plays a crucial role in connecting us, sharing the triumphs and challenges of our communities that often go unnoticed by larger outlets.

This role marks a significant new chapter not just in my career as a journalist but also my personal connection to Ringsend. #bornandbred!

My goal is to ensure NewsFour reflects the heart of Dublin 4, whether we are highlighting local achievements, shining a light on local heroes, or diving into important issues.

It’s hard to imagine NewsFour without our wonderful editor, Eoin Meegan. We are all so sad to see him retire this month! Nooooooo.

His leadership, wisdom and unwavering dedication has made a lasting impact not only on the paper but also on everyone lucky enough to have worked alongside him.

He is starting his own new chapter in his life and plans to go off and have lots of fun adventures but is leaving a great team here in NewsFour HQ to carry on all his hard work and love that he has given to the paper over the past years. And I will be forever grateful for his support, encouragement, mentorship, and belief in me. Thank you Eoin.

NewsFour’s core of good journalism remains the same: truth, fairness, and community engagement and together we will continue to build stronger, more informed and connected communities one story at a time.
