Deepest condolences to the wife, family and friends of Gerry Quinn who passed away in March. Originally from Fairymount in Roscommon, Gerry spent most of his life in Donnybrook, and served faithfully for over 30 years as a Garda in Donnybrook station. He was well known and loved in the area.
By way of a tribute Friends of Donnybrook reported:
“A true gentleman and a pillar of the Donnybrook community, Gerry Quinn, was more than just a retired member of An Garda Síochána; he was a symbol of dedication, warmth, and character that left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
Gerry served the people of Donnybrook with marked distinction during his time with An Garda Síochána. His commitment to keeping our streets safe was matched only by the kindness and respect he showed to all. Even after hanging up his uniform, he remained a steadfast presence in our lives, a familiar and cherished figure who could often be spotted cruising through the neighbourhood in his beloved Classic Austin Wolsley . . . Gerry Quinn will be sorely missed. Donnybrook feels a little quieter today, a little less vibrant without his presence. But his legacy lives on—in the memories of his service, in the echoes of that Austin Wolsley’s engine, and in the countless lives he touched with his generosity and charm. To us, he was a friend, a neighbour, and a man we were privileged to know.”
