Join Beaten Track as they bring The Seafarer to Sean O’Casey Theatre.
The Seafarer follows Sharky Harkin as he returns home to Baldoyle having lost his job, to care for his blind older brother Richard. While Sharky battles with his alcohol addiction over the Christmas period, Richard invites two men to the house to play poker. The game takes a sinister turn when they are joined by a figure from Sharky’s past, and soon he is playing for his very soul.
Written by Conor McPherson, The Seafarer was originally staged in 2006 to critical acclaim, picking up many awards nominations along the way. The play’s Broadway run featured the talents of actors such as Michael McElhatton, David Morse and Ciarán Hinds.
The Beaten Track production will feature Tommy Seery, Colm Meehan, Brian Baker, Fran Cooke and Anthony Seery, under the direction of Maggie Byrne.
The show runs from the 2nd to the 6th of December in the Sean O’Casey Theatre on St Mary’s Road in East Wall. Doors open at 7pm and the show begins at 8pm. Tickets cost €10 and can be booked online or by calling or sending a text to 085 285 1570.
