The Vintage Inn, in Irishtown will be holding a tribute music night to honour the life of local man Lar Dunne who sadly passed away only two months ago.
NewsFour spoke to Lar’s good friend Paul Lewis, who told us how Lar was such a well-loved man around Irishtown, Ringsend and Sandymount. “There were 2,000 people at Lar’s funeral, that’s how much he was loved down here.” Paul said. Lar worked in Lawless’s newsagents on Irishtown road with his brother Anthony for years and his local pub was The Vintage Inn. Friends want to honour his life because of the person Lar was so they decided to set up a Shindig with other musicians in the area. The group of musicians will be playing a mixture of 50s, 60s and 70s with a few ballads thrown in for good measures.
The Shindig for Lar will take place this Friday 31st January at The Vintage Inn at 8.30pm till late.
